- you. - Simon

-
- To: VWTC01D AARON BAILEY Date: 04/24
- From: CELB88A BRENT SPINER Time: 7:51 PM
-
- Aaron, it's true, "The Next Generation" set can be an "out of
- control" party at times.
-
- Generally, it's always felt as if we're doing one long improv at the
- set, one that began at 7 a.m. and ended in the p.m., only to be
- interupted by having to do scenes for the show.
-
- We've always considered the bridge to be one big nightclub. In fact,
- we were on the bridge yesterday for the first time since we started
- the feature film, with a new crew, and I think they were taken aback
- by this sudden explosion of energy. It was like we were home again
- and everyone just took off.
-
- On the bridge, we have many routines. Michael Dorn and I do dueling
- Gregory Pecks, dueling Jimmy Stewarts and occasionally Marlon Brando
- in the form of Data will make an appearance. Jonathan does "Volare"
- at least once a day, and Patrick does a routine where he says the
- ship is in jeopardy, caves, becomes a frightened child, and says
- we're all going to die.
-
- One day we'll get this all on videptape!

- To: HBBR94B PAUL SPEZIALI JR Date: 04/24
- From: CELB88A BRENT SPINER Time: 7:57 PM
-
- Paul, you asked about what will happen to the "Next Generation" crew
- after the series goes off the air. Well, we're all currently making a
- film, "Star Trek: Generations," as we speak. When that movie is
- finished, we'll all wait for the box office returns to find out if
- we'll be making another film after that.

-
- To: NYMU62A JOHN FERGUSON Date: 04/24
- From: CELB88A BRENT SPINER Time: 8:09 PM
-
- John, I think the similarities between Data and Spock are fewer than
- the differences. We were both basically the information givers on the
- show, which is the similarity.
-
- After that, we are diametrically opposed. He was part human who
- rejected his humanity. I am all machine, and want nothing more than
- to be human.

- To: NDBF18A LYDIA FECTEAU Date: 04/24
- From: CELB88A BRENT SPINER Time: 7:47 PM
-
- Lydia, I think Data needs a love story. I've been begging for that
- for 7 years. Sooner or later, it's got to happen.
-
- This poor machine can't be alone all his life.

- To: YWNP68A SUSAN GUILL Date: 04/24
- From: CELB88A BRENT SPINER Time: 7:57 PM
-
- Susan, I'm in the gold makeup for about 14-15 hours a day, and
- blessedly, my skin has stayed pretty healthy. I've been fortunate
- that Paramount has paid for me to have a facial every other weekend
- to suck the gold out of my skin. If I'm ever operated on, I fear that
- if they open me up, gold dust will fill the operating room.

- To: EDCY44B WESLEY DUKE Date: 04/24
- From: CELB88A BRENT SPINER Time: 8:22 PM
-
- Wesley, from the original cast, Kirk, Scotty and Chekov appear in
- "Star Trek: Generations." My role in the film is a supporting role,
- but an interesting departure for me. In reading the script, I
- estimate that at the very least, they'll love me in France. (For our
- Jerry Lewis fans out there.)

-
- To: FHEM81A DAVID GILL-BOUCHER Date: 04/24
- From: CELB88A BRENT SPINER Time: 8:09 PM
-
- Yes David, I did do an episode of "Cheers" many years ago. I played a
- guy who had tried to kill his wife with a chainsaw, and Shelley Long
- was the foreman of the jury in the court where I was being tried.
- There are certain shows that every actor would like to have been a
- part of, even in a small way, and "Cheers" is one of them. I had a
- blast at Cheers. I also did a "Hill Street Blues," which I felt the
- same way way about, but missed "St. Elsewhere."
-
- The show on now that I'd love to do a guest spot on would be "Picket
- Fences.

-
- To: JPDA95A GERALD HALL Date: 04/24
- From: CELB88A BRENT SPINER Time: 8:00 PM
-
- Gerald, here's the deal on "Star Trek: Generations:" Without giving
- too much away, and assuming you already have your own script, it
- basically is a Capt. Picard story, who does a little time travelling
- and meets up with Capt. Kirk, Scotty and Bones. Here's how the story
- was explained to me:
-
- if this film was a sandwich, Shatner is the bread, Picard is the
- meat, and I'm the pickle.

-
- To: SXJM19E SCOTT BOUDREAU Date: 04/24
- From: CELB88A BRENT SPINER Time: 8:16 PM
-
- Scott, I will be looking at least 2 or 3 months older in the upcoming
- "Star Trek: Generations" film than the last time you saw me on TV.
- There are also a few minor costume alternations, and the entire look
- of the picture will be different than anything you've seen of us.
- We're in the wide screen format, and from the video playback that
- I've been watching, it looks sensational. Seeing the bridge in wide
- screen is a whole new experience. The film is being shot by John
- Alonzo, an academy award winning cinematographer who also did
- "Chinatown" and "Close Encounters of the Third Kind."

-
- To: CKSR40C MARC LEBRYK Date: 04/24
- From: CELB88A BRENT SPINER Time: 7:41 PM
-
- Marc, I think it's very likely that Data will one day have emotions.
- Over the years, he's evolved and had a tiny sample of emotions, here
- and there. With the film series, should it continue, I think it's
- highly likely we'll see Data get some emotions.
